Contact invitations
Sometimes a contact invitation may be sent and never received, approved, or confirmed. If you sent the invite, it will likely remain in the "Pending Approval" state.
What should I do if the contact I invited did not receive the request to connect?
If the contact you invited did not receive the request to connect, you can remove/delete that contact from SecretShield and re-add them. Alternately, you can remove/delete that contact from SecretShield and ask them to add you.
The contact accidentally declined my invitation.
You will need to send a new invitation to connect. You can remove/delete that contact from SecretShield and re-add them. Alternately, you can remove/delete that contact from SecretShield and ask them to add you.
It still says pending after my contacted accepted/approved my invitation.
Verify you are online and not disconnected.
If all is verified and several minutes have passed, you may need to try again. To try again, you can remove/delete that contact from SecretShield and re-add them. Alternately, you can remove/delete that contact from SecretShield and ask them to add you.
Technical Notes
Inviting a contact involves establishing end-to-end encryption between your SecretShield app and the SecretShield app of the contact. There are several messages exchanged between the applications as part of this process and if any of those fail, the negotiation will not complete and must be restarted.
